Your mission
The Exploration Company develops, produces, and operates Nyx, a modular and reusable orbital vehicle that can eventually be refueled in orbit, and which carries cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.
For the design of their spacecraft, they are looking for an Additive Manufacturing Senior Engineer to contribute to the development of cryogenic propulsion systems. You will be in charge of the development and sustainability of all aspects of the additive manufacturing process with a focus on machines, software, part design and analysis, and additive techniques. You will work closely with their propulsion engineers to design parts that demonstrate the possibilities of additive manufacturing. You will also work to extend those possibilities by developing processes and/or technologies. You will be part of the Propulsion System Team and will report to the Propulsion System Lead. You will work in close cooperation with the Engine Technical Authority, the MAIT Chief, and the Vehicle Design Lead for any transverse additive manufacturing development or application.
What you'll work on
You have the following responsibilities:
- To serve as the subject matter expert for additive manufacturing
- To demonstrate novel additive manufacturing technologies and approaches
- To continuously improve the entire company's approach to additive manufacturing
- To develop and foster business relationships with machining suppliers
- To support the qualification of additive manufacturing processes for flight hardware
- To collaborate with thermal and structural analysts, design engineers, materials and manufacturing engineers
- To drive design and provide ongoing technical support that achieves performance, cost, rate, reusability, and reliability goals
- To effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data
- To write technical documentation and participate in reviews of designed systems
Location
You will perform your duties principally at the Company's premises in Munich. You may be required to travel from time to time to their company’s premises in Bordeaux in the course of your duties.
