As a DevOps Engineer at Coinsquare, you'll be a part of our Technology team, supporting Coinsquare's technical operations, infrastructure, and applications.

You're someone who thrives in a fast-paced changing environment and is looking for mentorship and growth alongside the organization and to mentor and educate others. You will live your life in a CLI. You will be used to juggling multiple issues simultaneously and making sure they all come to a conclusion. You will be used to being involved in sensitive, high-stakes, and time-critical issues and keeping your head when the temperature is rising.

Coinsquare runs 100% cloud-based microservices, with a Kafka-backed event architecture. Our services are completely containerized and CI/CD builds are managed by Jenkins and deployed with ArgoCD. Our deployed infrastructure is 100% orchestrated by Kubernetes. We make extensive use of ELK and Grafana for log ingestion and inspection.

What you’ll be doing

Work closely with engineering through the development lifecycle including diagnostics and operations
Support and troubleshoot production systems including legacy applications
Design, implement and improve infrastructure architecture, networking policies, and orchestration
Manage access controls to key resources in the infrastructure
Work closely with IT and external vendors to ensure smooth operations of the business 24/7
Advise and implement best practices around site security, durability, and reliability
Provide better observability/traceability of systems

What you’ll bring

3+ years of practical experience supporting real-world production systems, work in a DevOps/SRE capacity deploying applications, working knowledge of Linux, networking (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls), software development lifecycle
2-3 years of AWS experience
Experience with Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure
2+ years experience operating distributed storage systems, ideally Kafka and programming proficiency using Python/Bash
2+ years experience working in a highly-distributed system
Experience operating Kubernetes clusters in a real-world application
Experience using Docker, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Ansible, GIT
Highly comfortable implementing CI/CD pipelines independently
SecDevOps experience is a bonus
