The Web3 Foundation nurtures and stewards technologies and applications for the decentralized web. We collaborate with cutting-edge developer teams, researchers and community leaders to strengthen and extend the uses of decentralized technologies; building the future of identity, privacy, financial markets, commerce, and more.

Our core project at the moment is Polkadot, a protocol designed to connect blockchains and allow them to interoperate, share security and more. In addition, we are supporting the development of a number of technologies that form the Web 3.0 tech stack - such as decentralized messaging, distributed storage or secret management.

Tasks

You will join W3F’s SecOps team, and

Carry out daily IT operations, including installation, configuration, patch management, and IT support
Take over ownership and access management of various internal and external services such as GitLab, Matrix Synapse and Google Workspace
Take over ownership of software and hardware inventories and their life cycle management

Requirements

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in IT operations, system administration, or similar roles
Security awareness & best practices
Experience with Linux and OSX
Scripting experience, e.g. in Bash
Networking experience such as routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs
Willingness to be part of on-call duty rotation
Team orientated and capable of working with multiple stakeholders
Main work location is Zug, partly remote possible
English proficiency: verbal and written

A Plus

Interest in new technologies and decentralisation
Familiarity with cloud environments and container orchestration systems, e.g. Kubernetes
Familiarity with on-prem/cloud automation technologies such as Helm, Ansible
Experience in implementing and automating security best practices with tools such as MDM, vulnerability management, EDR, SIEM/SOAR
Experience with APIs
German language skills
