Fanatics is looking for a Platform or Full stack Engineer to develop and maintain platforms & frameworks that are highly reliable, scalable, and will serve as the backbone for Fanatics.

Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and deploy platform components • Deliver secure, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure and APIs • Work with our infrastructure engineering team to minimize the operational overhead of production systems you deploy • Come up with new ideas to streamline existing architecture and provide newer capabilities • Work with partner engineering to see how new features on these big data platforms can ease their pain points and improve their productivity • Good understanding of Java, Go, and Python • Experience with platforms like Kafka, Apache Pulsar, Druid, Snowflake, EMR and other Big Data Processing Pipelines is a big plus • In depth knowledge of OOP

Requirements • Expertise in Java, Golang or other backend languages • 7+ years of engineering experience • Experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed systems • Deep understanding of architectural patterns of large, mission-critical production services • You take a rigorous approach to test driven development and have worked in continuous integration/deployment environments. • Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms is a big plus

We are looking for a seasoned technical leader to lead and grow our big data platform team at Fanatics. The big data platform team is responsible for building and managing common data platform components such as big data processing engines, workflow engines, data governance tools, etc. that can be used by other teams in the company. The ideal candidate will have a track record of building and leading data engineering/data platform teams, and driving improvements in data technology and performance.

What Will You Do? 1. Own the technical roadmap for evolving the data platform to support the future needs of the business 2. Provide thought leadership and mentoring to the data engineering team on how data should be stored and processed more efficiently and quickly at scale 3. Maintain the big data platform and drive toward better SLA & cost optimization for the engineering and business teams 4. Partner closely with Engineering, Data Science, and various business teams to deliver all required data assets and ensure data quality and timeliness 5. Work with data engineers to create services that can ingest and supply data to and from external sources 6. Define the processes needed to achieve operational excellence and platform reliability.

What Are We Looking For? 1. 7+ years of software development experience with at least 2+ years of experience leading data engineering teams 2. Knowledge of common design patterns used in Big Data processing 3. Proficiency in big data technologies: EMR, Beam, Spark, Flink, Hive, Hadoop, etc. 4. Experience working with teams in different timezones 5. Experience of building scalable infrastructure to support batch, micro-batch or stream data processing
