What we're looking for
- Design, develop, test, and operationalize AI/ML models to solve mission and business challenges.
- Implement model architecture and data pipelines, ensuring interoperability with existing systems and data sources.
- Manage the full AI/ML lifecycle — including training, retraining, deployment, scheduling, monitoring, and continuous improvement of models based on user and system feedback.
- Define, interpret, and communicate model performance metrics to both technical and mission stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, data engineers, and mission subject matter experts to deliver integrated, high-performance solutions.
- Ensure AI/ML systems adhere to security, governance, and compliance standards.
- Provide technical leadership and serve as the primary POC for AI-related efforts, coordinating across geographically distributed development teams.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging tools, frameworks, and best practices in AI/ML to strengthen mission outcomes and accelerate innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph (Polygraph must be within the last 7 years)
- Proven experience designing and deploying machine learning and deep learning models in production environments.
- Strong understanding of model architectures, data pipelines, and metrics analysis.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C, or R .
- Experience with foundational software engineering principles, infrastructure management, data engineering, and data governance.
- Hands-on experience with MLOps tools and frameworks (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow).
- Experience deploying AI/ML solutions in secure cloud or hybrid environments (i.e. AWS GovCloud).
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
Salary:
$135,000 - $195,000 per year Ability to Telework 2 days a week
