About the Role
We’re seeking an AI Systems Engineer to join our Public Sector initiatives, helping design, build, and optimize AI systems for secure, distributed, and high-performance environments. This position bridges research and implementation—turning experimental models into robust, production-ready systems deployed across government cloud and edge infrastructures.
You’ll work across the AI stack—from model optimization and deployment pipelines to low-level GPU acceleration—ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable performance under diverse operational constraints.
What we're looking for
- Transform prototype AI models into production-ready, scalable systems.
- Fine-tune and optimize models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face Transformers .
- Implement model optimization techniques such as quantization, pruning, distillation, and hardware acceleration .
- Develop adaptive systems using LoRA , PEFT , and on-device inference methods.
- Build and maintain Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines integrated with vector databases (FAISS, Milvus, Pinecone).
- Work on multi-modal AI systems across text, vision, and audio.
- Generate synthetic data using GANs, diffusion models, or simulation-based techniques.
- Write GPU-accelerated, low-level code in C, C++, or Rust for performance-critical systems.
- Engineer for distributed and resource-constrained environments , ensuring robust offline and failover capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, MLOps, and Security teams to deliver secure and compliant solutions.
- Active or eligible U.S. Security Clearance .
- 5+ years of experience in applied AI, ML engineering, or AI systems development .
- Proficiency with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face .
- Experience deploying AI across cloud, edge, and mobile environments .
- Strong background in model compression and performance optimization.
- Deep understanding of GPU computing, CUDA, and performance profiling .
- Experience building RAG pipelines and integrating vector databases .
- Familiarity with multi-modal AI and synthetic data generation .
- Expertise in C/C++/Rust and systems-level programming.
- Strong algorithmic problem-solving skills for distributed systems.
- Experience with edge AI , federated learning , or offline inference .
- Knowledge of distributed training frameworks ( DeepSpeed , Ray , etc.).
- Familiarity with AI governance and compliance for public sector environments.
- Experience deploying AI within microservice or distributed architectures .
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
