What you'll work on
- Manage up to two teams with 2-4 engineers on each, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support to help them grow and succeed in their roles.
- Drive delivery of key features, ensuring release timelines are met and build quality is inline with Technical and Operational guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, client teams, DevSecOps and SRE, to develop and maintain highly performant and scalable services that align with MetaMask's overall strategy.
- Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning within your team, encouraging engineers to explore new technologies, share knowledge, and improve processes.
- Drive technical decision-making, ensuring that your team's solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the technical landscape, staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity.
- Work closely with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and collaboration across the MetaMask ecosystem.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of your team's work, using data to inform product decisions and drive growth.
- Communicate technical plans, progress, and results to stakeholders, including product leaders, designers, and other engineering teams.
What we're looking for
- 4+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years of software engineering management experience in a global role
- Hiring management experience
- Agile software engineering experience
- Engineering skills
- JavaScript /TypeScript
- GoLang
- Node.js & server side frameworks
- Data warehousing / SQL
- AWS infrastructure
- Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Git and GitHub
- Experience developing APIs, databases & backend services for consumer products
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
