Reports To
This person will report to the Fraud Analytics Manager, inside the Fraud Prevention team.
What you'll work on
- Bachelorâs degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in data analytics, with a strong focus on fraud prevention in e-commerce, fintech, or a related industry.
- Proficiency in SQL; hands-on experience with Python or R for data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end investigations, including both analytical and manual forensics, preferably in cross-border fintech or crypto environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the crypto space is a strong plus.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark) and version control (e.g., GitHub) is a plus.
- A results-oriented mindset with a proven track record of impactful delivery.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of building prevention systems and leading complex investigations.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with a capacity to balance tactical oversight with long-term strategic vision.
What we're looking for
- Lead the New Investigation Unit
- Act as the first hire for this new team, taking ownership of its roadmap, priorities, and long-term vision.
- Map out the needs for the team's future, including defining additional roles, required skills and new tools to adopt as the unit grows.
- Data-Driven Detection
- Design and build monitoring dashboards, alerts, and other tools to proactively identify suspicious activity and emerging fraud trends.
- Deep-Dive Investigations
- Conduct end-to-end analysis and manual forensics to uncover new fraud methodologies lead investigations into systemic fraud cases (e.g., mule rings, internal fraud, advanced scams), and manage significant incidents from start to finish.
- Operational Partnership
- Work closely with the rest of the Fraud Prevention team to translate findings into effective rules and processes, and to ensure proper regulatory reporting when required.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to recommend system improvements and ensure fraud requirements are integrated into their roadmaps.
