Our mission is to enable the development of thriving economies built on blockchain. We are a group of deeply technical people who specialize in computer science, math, engineering, economics, and finance. We believe that trust-based technologies will cause massive disruptions across all sectors of the current economy and we are building tools to accelerate that change.
We are an interdisciplinary team that focuses heavily on collaboration and curiosity. Because we are fully remote, we care more about output and outcomes than how much time is spent. We care more about doing things well than who gets the credit.
The research team at Thrackle aims to frame problems in DeFi in a rigorous manner and then to solve or make incremental progress with these problems using mathematics and simulations. Workflows are aligned with the standard research process; the team works through market research, mechanism ingestion and data analysis (when relevant), and problem formulation. Then, an iterative cycle between pen and paper mathematics and simulation building often occurs. As the problems we tackle become more multivariate and stochastic (often without clear distributional assumptions), our need for robust simulation tooling has expanded as well. The research engineer will work with researchers (with perhaps more domain or mathematical knowledge) at various stages of the aforementioned pipeline to determine how to build and extend our current simulation infrastructure.
