As a Public Policy Specialist of the Brazilian Public Policy team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies devised to advance Bitso's policy objectives through strategic collaboration with governmental agencies and other industry groups. You will work with policymakers, financial regulators, private sector participants and financial sector associations.
What you'll work on
- A passionate public policy professional with 3+ years of experience, ideally focused on financial services, technology, or fintech.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with key Brazilian government stakeholders. Deep familiarity with the Central Bank (BCB) and the CVM is essential; existing relationships are a significant plus. Experience with the Federal Congress is also highly valued.
- A highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and the ability to manage complex projects autonomously, aligning with our values of Self-Management and High Sense of Urgency.
- Deep, nuanced understanding of Brazilian financial laws, regulation, and the political landscape.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to synthesize complex regulatory concepts for diverse audiences. Full professional fluency in both Portuguese and English is required.
- Impeccable integrity and discretion in handling sensitive, confidential information.
- Adaptable and resilient, thriving in the fast-paced, dynamic environment of the crypto industry.
What we're looking for
- Build and maintain high-trust relationships with key stakeholders, including the Central Bank, CVM, Federal Congress, and other financial authorities.
- Act as a leading voice and educator for Bitso, clearly articulating the benefits of crypto and our policy positions to stakeholders.
- Proactively monitor, analyze, and report on policy developments, regulatory changes, and political shifts in Brazil, identifying both risks and opportunities for Bitso.
- Serve as a critical strategic partner to internal teams (Product, Legal, business units, among others). You will translate complex regulation into actionable business requirements and provide policy guidance to support new product launches and operational compliance.
- Develop and execute advocacy campaigns, write public comments, and represent Bitso in industry associations and public forums to help shape a favorable policy environment.
