Job description
The Cardio-CARE research group at the Medizincampus Davos, Switzerland, is a programme of the Kühne Foundation. We are seeking a highly motivated Biomedical Data scientist / AI Scientist (f/m/d) to join our dynamic interdisciplinary team. You will contribute to ambitious and collaborative projects at the interface of artificial intelligence, computational biology, and cardiovascular research.
Our flagship initiative involves the analysis of 9000 whole genome sequences from the Hamburg City Health Study, conducted in close collaboration with the Department of Cardiology within the University Heart and Vascular Center Hamburg at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), Germany. In addition, we are expanding into projects based on MRI image analysis, physiological signal processing, and machine learning analyses, with the aim of predicting heart function and cardiac structure.
What you'll work on
- Apply machine learning and AI methods to cardiovascular research data
- Feature engineering, physiological signal processing , MRI image analysis
- Integrate genetics, omics, imaging, and clinical data in multimodal analyses
- Contribute to the publication of research findings
- Provide training and support to team members
- Collaborate closely with researchers from different disciplines
What you bring
- A background in AI, computational biology, computer science, data science, or a related field
- Experience in AI and track record of its application to biomedical research
- Experience in one or more of the following: medical image analysis, multimodal data integration, physiological signal processing
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with enthusiasm for interdisciplinary teamwork
- Fluency in English; knowledge of German is an advantage
