*Data Scientist - Recruiting Growth
Location:**
Preference for Boston, Austin, Worcester, Tempe, or West Palm but open to FT Remote
What you'll work on
- Partner with Lead Data Scientist and business leaders, emphasis on Recruiting and Marketing, to understand challenges and translate unstructured business problems into solvable mathematical problems
- Participate in discovery sessions and workshops to get at root causes pursuant to developing the right solutions to the right challenges
- Work within our user centric, product-inspired approach to Data Science
- Collaborate with learning and development to develop training and other engagement sustaining capabilities to ensure problems stay solved
- Conduct analytic research to identify opportunities, causes, and insights to drive growth
- Create machine learning models that optimize next best actions and decision making for sales colleagues and leadership
- Leverage AI capabilities to create organizational leverage, including your own work
What we're looking for
- 0 to 3 years of professional experience in predictive modeling, data science, machine learning
- Fluency with data science tools, e.g., SQL, Python, R, and ability to learn new tools on the fly
- Academic or professional experience with explainable machine learning, e.g., Shapley
- Academic or professional experience using LLMs, e.g., API calls to chatGPT
- Robust conceptual understanding of machine learning and AI, e.g., what is XGBoost and how does it work, and generative AI, e.g., how does gradient descent work, why is it relevant
- Comfort and experience engaging with business peers and leaders, this role will be expected to present to leaders intermittently
- Comfort in both back office / heads down mode as well as front office / interpersonal mode, in other words you not only like building models, you also like promoting, teaching, and explaining them to non-technical people
