Role overview
We are seeking a talented and accomplished Machine Learning Engineer to join our innovative and inclusive team of Data at Futurice. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a team player who is passionate about Generative AI, LLMs, and RAG. This role will be crucial for contributing to our generative AI initiatives, solving complex problems, and providing advice to decision-makers. We offer a hybrid working mode that allows for flexibility, but it is important that the candidate is located close to one of our Finland offices (Helsinki or Tampere) to ensure seamless collaboration. Please kindly note that, at this time, we are unable to offer relocation opportunities, or we will need to be highly selective in considering such requests.
What you'll work on
- Lead the design and development of tailored solutions that leverage GenAI, harnessing the power of Large Language Models (LLM) to address complex business challenges.
- Work with LLMs, vector embeddings, and retrieval systems to develop a comprehensive GenAI application that leverages advanced natural language processing (NLP) techniques for tasks such as text generation, summarization, question answering, and content recommendation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to the development of AI use cases that contribute real value to the users.
- Advise and support stakeholders on applying AI methodologies in their business to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Lead and mentor within the AI domain, driving innovation and excellence in the Data Competence.
- Support our sales team, leveraging your technical expertise to contribute to customer success and drive project engagements.
What we're looking for
- MSc in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative field with a strong focus on analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in GenAI, machine learning, and software development, with a history of successfully implementing (generative) AI use cases into practical solutions.
- Proficiency in programming skills such as Python and other AI-related libraries and frameworks. Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs e.g. GPT or Llama2 and understanding of NLP coupled with LLMs.
- Demonstrated ability in AI/ML solution architecture design and experience with data and AI tools on popular cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Possession of relevant certifications in cloud technology or GenAI.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical audiences. Finnish is a nice plus.

A conversation focusing on your potential role, expectations, and upcoming projects. This interview is typically with your potential supervisor and a Principal-level team member.
