Role overview
Site reliability engineering team in Kronos Research is responsible for the overall performance and reliability of Kronos’ machine learning and trading infrastructure. Some call this DevOps or MLOps. There are hundreds of servers located in tens of data centers hybrid on premise and cloud, and the SRE team ensures the infrastructure stability by redundancy and failover, achieved by automation.
An SRE Manager is ultimately responsible for system reliability, developer productivity and reducing time to market by striving to reduce technical debt of the services your SRE team supports. We seek managers who are passionate about system reliability to influence and drive the strategic SRE mission.
What you'll work on
- Engage, influence, and evangelize SRE practices with development, operational and product groups to align technology service/solution delivery
- Deployment & change management, canary and release processes of Kronos’ learning and trading infrastructure
- Drive efficiencies in systems and processes: capacity planning, configuration management, performance tuning, and monitoring
- Incident response, including on-call experience and a comprehensive postmortem process
What we're looking for
- Proven leader of technology solutions in a high volume transaction environment
- Experience in building and deploying machine learning models
- Experience in managing hybrid services with on-premise and cloud servers
- Understanding of Unix/Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond, taking in system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols along the way
- Networking: knowledge and understanding of network theory, such as different protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, etc), MAC addresses, IP packets, DNS, OSI layers, and load balancing
- Interest in trading and financial markets
