Senior Data Scientist - Conversational AI
Location: Remote (US)
Salary: $160,000 - $220,000 + equity + benefits

About the Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist focused on Conversational AI to design and optimize intelligent, scalable chatbot systems. You’ll work across data science, engineering, and product teams to build high-quality AI experiences, applying your expertise in prompt engineering, LLM integration, and conversation design.
Responsibilities:
- Design multi-turn AI conversation flows and modular chatbot logic
- Manage dialogue state, intent recognition, and entity extraction
- Integrate LLMs like GPT, Claude, Gemini, or LLaMA into production systems
- Collaborate with engineers to connect bots to APIs, CRMs, and enterprise systems
- Optimize conversation quality through testing, analytics, and iterative improvements
- Document conversation logic and decision workflows for scalability
- Partner with product teams to align conversational UX with business goals
Skills & Experience:
- Conversational AI and LLM-based systems expertise
- Prompt engineering and ML techniques for dialogue management
- Frameworks like LangChain, Rasa, Dialogflow, Amazon Lex
- Strong collaboration and system thinking skills
- Bonus: voice-enabled AI, vector databases/RAG, knowledge graphs, healthcare experience
