Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Applied AI Research
We are supporting a well funded industrial AI research group building next generation machine learning systems that move from research to real world deployment.
This role sits at the intersection of applied research and engineering. You will work closely with senior researchers to turn novel ML ideas into robust, production ready implementations, with a strong focus on generative models and efficient on-device deployment.
What you'll work on
- Implementing and scaling cutting edge ML and generative AI research
- Rapid prototyping, large scale experimentation, and model evaluation
- Optimising models for performance, memory, and efficiency on constrained hardware
- Bridging research prototypes into deployable systems
- Collaborating with research, systems, and product teams globally
What they are looking for
- PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Strong publication record at top tier ML conferences or journals
- Expert Python and PyTorch experience
- Solid understanding of model optimisation techniques such as quantisation or pruning
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and code quality mindset
- Experience with C++, embedded platforms, or mobile systems is a plus
This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys shipping high quality research code and seeing their work land on real devices at scale.
