Role overview
The firm’s Innovation team is seeking a Python-focused AI Engineer who can design and build production-grade chatbot systems and intelligent automation tools. This person will create backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that support proprietary legal AI products used by attorneys, business teams, and clients. The ideal candidate blends software engineering skill, hands-on chatbot development, and strong data science fundamentals.
This role is highly collaborative, interacting with attorneys, finance teams, innovation leadership, and technical partners. You will build new features, integrate cloud-based AI models, and architect data flows that power next-generation legal tech solutions.
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, or similar LLM frameworks
- Experience embedding models such as sentence transformers or OpenAI embeddings
- Experience building machine learning models with Python or R
- Understanding of NLP techniques and chatbot workflows
- Ability to experiment with model prompts and evaluate model outputs
