At Lobster, we are pioneering a new DeFi category: liquidity pool optimization for decentralized exchanges (DEXs). Our mission is to radically transform liquidity management in decentralized finance by making it more efficient, less risky, and more profitable.

Our suite of proprietary algorithms addresses different aspects of liquidity pool optimization. After three years of R&D, we've built a comprehensive infrastructure that allows for the creation and implementation of various optimization strategies, each targeting specific metrics such as liquidity efficiency, spread reduction, impermanent loss mitigation, or price stabilization.

Vos missions

Complete Backtesting Tool Development: Design, implement, and optimize robust Python-based backtesting tools to validate our various optimization strategies under different market conditions. You will be responsible for the complete cycle, from design to production deployment.
Blockchain Data Analysis & Processing: Develop efficient pipelines to collect and analyze historical and real-time data from liquidity pools. Optimize pipeline performance to ensure fast and reliable analysis.
Quantitative Algorithm Implementation: Translate complex mathematical models into performant Python code for different optimization objectives. Create modular, reusable components that can be combined to address specific pool characteristics.
Production Deployment & Monitoring: Ensure the deployment and monitoring of strategies in production environments. Develop monitoring systems to guarantee strategy performance and stability.
Research & Innovation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of our algorithmic infrastructure and the exploration of new approaches to maintain our competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving market.

Vos compétences

Strong Mathematics & Statistics Skills: Deep understanding of quantitative models, applied statistics, and financial mathematics essential for modeling and optimizing DeFi strategies.
In-depth Knowledge of DeFi Mechanisms: Advanced understanding of liquidity pools, impermanent loss, and protocols like Uniswap v3, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practical models.
Object-Oriented Programming Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Python and OOP paradigms, with demonstrated ability to write optimized, modular, and high-performance code. Deep experience with performance optimization and profiling techniques.
End-to-End Backtesting & Deployment Experience: Having led at least one backtesting project from initial design to production deployment, including performance optimization. Proven ability to create reliable systems that work in real-world conditions.
Paris Location: Availability to work at Station F, or ability to come there at least once every two weeks.

Programming Skills

Advanced mastery of Python, with particular expertise in object-oriented programming and performance optimization
Deep experience with data science libraries (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, scipy) and ability to optimize their use for large datasets
Skills in parallelization and distributed computing to accelerate intensive processing
Experience with databases for efficient storage and retrieval of time-series data
Ability to write clean, documented, and testable code

Personal Requirements

2+ years of experience in DeFi, quantitative finance, or data engineering
Demonstrated ability to deliver concrete results quickly and iterate efficiently
Strong autonomy and ability to take initiative in a rapidly evolving environment
Analytical rigor and attention to detail, essential for developing reliable financial algorithms
Excellent communicator capable of explaining complex technical concepts
Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and market changes
Fluency in technical English (written and spoken)
