RISC Zero is on a mission to fix the internet. We're a diverse group of hackers, futurists, and nerds dedicated to making the internet the place we all deserve. We've already built the world's first zero knowledge virtual machine capable of running arbitrary code as a zero knowledge proof. We're now building an ecosystem on top of it.

What you’ll do

As a Research Engineer at RISC Zero, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of blockchain technology by working closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. Through this process, you will contribute valuable insights and feedback to improve our product offerings. You will work on diverse projects such as building decentralized applications, crafting innovative smart contracts, and quickly prototyping to meet client needs. Your work with clients will inform the ongoing evolution of the Bonsai network. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, create detailed technical documentation, develop and maintain demo applications, and stay at the forefront of blockchain technologies and trends.

Who you are

You have a strong background in computer science, extensive experience in blockchain development, and a track record of working effectively with customers. You are proficient in at least one blockchain platform such as Ethereum, Cosmos, or Bitcoin and have experience with programming languages like Solidity or Rust. Your understanding of cryptography, consensus algorithms, and smart contracts is top-notch. You can work in a fast-paced environment, juggle multiple projects, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

More specifically, you’ve probably done most of the following:

Designed and implemented decentralized applications and smart contracts on blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Cosmos, or Bitcoin
Built production applications in Rust or similar languages
Worked to understand the internals of cryptography, consensus algorithms, and smart contracts
Collaborated with cross-functional teams and clients to design and implement tailored blockchain solutions
Gathered and translated customer feedback into actionable product improvements
Supported application development through blockchain consensus changes or across multiple blockchains

Requirements

At least 1-2 years of experience in blockchain development.
Proficiency in at least one blockchain platform such as Ethereum, Cosmos or Bitcoin.
Experience in programming languages such as Solidity, or Rust.
Strong understanding of cryptography, consensus algorithms, and smart contracts.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

$140,000 - $249,000 a year

We have a transparent pay structure with above market salaries and premium benefits.
