Clinical AI Research Scientist (part time)
Citrus Oncology is seeking an Clinical AI Research Scientist to join our mission-driven virtual platform that employs a multi-specialty approach to Cancer Supportive Care. As a key member of our founding team, you will play a crucial role in shaping our technological direction and building innovative solutions to connect cancer patients with specialized care.
Position Details
Part-time: 20 hours per week
Compensation: Equity-based or hourly-based
What we're looking for
- Design, develop, and implement healthcare-specific AIs
- Automate and enhance clinical and operational workflows
- Fine-tune existing architectures for healthcare-specific tasks and domain knowledge
- Collaborate with our engineering team to integrate AI solutions into our technology stack
- Ensure AI systems meet healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, etc.)
- Evaluate and optimize AI model performance based on clinical feedback
- Research cutting-edge AI approaches relevant to healthcare applications
- Degree (BS, MS or PhD) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field
- Strong understanding of modern LLM architectures and capabilities
- Experience with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and/or RAG systems
- Knowledge of healthcare AI applications and challenges
- Familiarity with Python and relevant ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and creative thinking
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and clinical stakeholders
