Role overview

As a Drone Vision Engineer, you will develop computer vision and AI solutions that enable drones to perceive and interact autonomously with their environment. You will work on real-time image and video processing, object detection and tracking, scene understanding, and visual navigation.

We are looking for someone with strong experience in computer vision, AI, and robotics, ideally with experience deploying vision systems on drones or embedded platforms.

What you'll work on

  • Design and develop computer vision and AI algorithms (detection, tracking, segmentation, SLAM, localization, mapping);
  • Build onboard perception systems to support autonomous navigation, inspection, and target identification;
  • Implement real-time image and video processing solutions;
  • Integrate cameras and sensors (RGB, thermal, depth, LiDAR, multispectral) with drone systems;
  • Optimize AI models for embedded and edge platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson);
  • Integrate vision systems with flight control, autonomy, and mission management software;
  • Develop simulation and testing environments before real-world deployment;
  • Support dataset collection, preprocessing, annotation, and model validation;
  • Conduct field tests with operations teams and improve system robustness;
  • Document system architecture, experiments, and deployment configurations;
  • Stay up to date with advancements in computer vision and drone perception.

What we're looking for

  • Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
  • Experience with frameworks such as OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, TensorRT, ONNX, scikit-learn.
  • Knowledge of object detection, tracking, segmentation, SLAM, visual odometry, pose estimation.
  • Familiarity with ROS / ROS2.
  • Experience with embedded platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson).
  • Understanding of real-time and embedded systems.
  • Experience with simulation tools (Gazebo, AirSim, Webots).
  • Knowledge of imaging sensors (RGB, thermal, stereo, depth).
  • Understanding of communication protocols and data pipelines.
