Role overview

BlockFi is looking for a Compliance Data Engineer to join our growing team! 

Your Mission


  • Deliver end-to-end data analytic solution for Compliance inclusive of data ingestion/aggregation, modeling, and visualization of descriptive and inferential statistics

  • Own relationships between stakeholders - both internal and external - in maintaining internal data warehouse and third party marketing platforms (e.g., Chainalysis, Hummingbird, Persona)

  • Experiment with, and continually improve on multi-touch attribution models, lifetime value models, and churn prediction models by cohort

  • Create and maintain documentation on key internal data processes that helps to enable the team to train new team members, detail existing obscure data pipelines, and lay the foundation for automation

  • Provide guidance to the organization surrounding how current processes, and changes to those processes will effect Reporting/Data Science and improve processes in the short term, and long term

  • Be a self starter that finds opportunities for development and can deliver solutions with minimal oversight

  • Display intellectual curiosity and seek opportunities for personal and professional improvement

  • Build internal tools to make Compliance department life more automated and easier.

Your Expertise


  • 2-3 years of professional experience working in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics.


  • SQL (Advanced), Alteryx, Relational DB (Postgres), Warehouse (Amazon Redshift), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Tableau (Or similar BI tools), Bonus: Databricks, Any coding experience is a huge benefit.

  • Previous professional experience within a high growth, fast paced, Compliance department. (Larger startup experienced is a bonus)

  • Experience measuring incrementally of both online and offline compliance programs as well as measuring brand impact on business metrics

  • A degree in a technical field such as Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or similar field

  • Excellent problem solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently without need for constant oversight

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities

  • High attention to detail

  • Adaptable to various environments and sudden changes

  • Ability to embrace new technology, applications and solutions

  • Desire to often work with people as well as be a self-motivated team player
