With £800m+ GWP today and better returns than the market, it is establishing itself as the leading specialist motor insurance business in the UK. The business underwrites around 25% of all taxis in the UK where it is the market leader.
Acorn currently has an outstanding opportunity for the best up-and-coming data science talent in the country to play a central role in building the UK’s largest specialist motor insurer.
We are looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our existing team and primarily support the Telematics business. The successful candidate will take on a range of tasks related to Telematics and ensure the underlying models and processes which support the pricing of the product are best in class.
You will have the opportunity to own this and to iterate and improve across two different telematics brands – Carrot and MyPolicy.
What you'll work on
- Being part of a small team you will have input not just on the projects we execute, but how we take on our whole workflow, our tooling and the data direction of the company.
- A suitable candidate would have an excellent Python coding ability
- Natural desire to act at pace and be innovative, while setting high standards
- Expert in a variety of machine learning solutions
- Solid statistical understanding
