Role overview
We are looking for a talented Machine Learning Engineer to join a fast-scaling Series B deep tech company at the forefront of AI, LLMs, and quantum-inspired technologies. You will work on cutting-edge projects involving Large Language Models, AI agents, RAG systems, and computer vision, collaborating with an international and highly skilled team.
What you'll work on
- Design and develop quantum-inspired techniques to compress and optimize Large Language Models
- Conduct rigorous model evaluations, benchmarking, fine-tuning, and optimization for accuracy, robustness, and efficiency
- Build LLM-based applications, including RAG systems and AI agents
- Assess model strengths and weaknesses and propose innovative improvements
- Act as a domain expert in LLMs, identifying opportunities for AI-driven innovation
- Design, train, and deliver custom deep learning models for clients
- Work across diverse AI domains, including computer vision
- Maintain thorough documentation of experiments, models, and development processes
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of continuous learning
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in AI and LLM technologies
What we're looking for
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields
- 2+ years of hands-on experience designing, training, or fine-tuning deep learning models
- Strong experience with transformer models (LLMs and/or computer vision)
- Proficiency with Python and libraries such as PyTorch and HuggingFace (Transformers, Accelerate, Datasets)
- Solid mathematical and theoretical understanding of deep learning algorithms (training & inference)
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), Docker, and deploying AI solutions
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Research publications in deep learning or related fields are a **plus
- Experience working in Spain
- Background in cybersecurity-related AI projects
- 3–4 years of professional experience as an AI / Machine Learning Engineer
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: 45,000.00€ per year
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Barcelona, Barcelona provincia: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
