We manage market risk, optimize growth, and ensure economic safety for protocols facilitating most spot trading, borrowing, and lending activity across all of DeFi, protecting and optimizing the largest protocols and networks in the industry. We build institutional-grade vaults for decentralized finance, delivering risk-adjusted onchain yields for capital at scale. Designed by the most vigilant, quantitative minds in crypto and informed by years of research. As of April 2025, Gauntlet manages $1.5B in vault TVL, and optimizes risk and incentives covering over $42 billion in customer TVL.
We continually publish cutting-edge research that informs our risk models, alerts, and analysis, and is among the most cited institutions — including academic institutions — in terms of peer-reviewed papers addressing DeFi as a subject. About the Role
Gauntlet builds solutions that apply off-chain intelligence to drive on-chain efficiency. We help partners monitor, understand, and capitalize on economic risk, and we measure success with clear, trusted metrics. This role owns the productization of Gauntlet’s core metrics for both internal decision making and external transparency.
You will define what we measure, how we measure it, and how the company and our community consume it. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, and Growth to deliver accurate, timely, and consistent reporting across vaults and platform features.
What we're looking for

- Hands-on experience with DefiLlama or other crypto aggregators, subgraphs, and on-chain indexing.
- Prior ownership of a company metrics catalog.
- Experience with BI and data stack tools such as Hex, Mode, Looker, BigQuery, dbt, Airflow.
- Understanding of measurement pitfalls: attribution bias, survivorship bias, and schema drift on EVM logs.
- Experience partnering with Finance on revenue, reconciliation, and monthly close processes.
- Domain fluency in DeFi metrics, on-chain data, and vault or protocol KPIs is strongly

The national pay range for this role is $170,000 - $190,000 base plus additional On Target Earnings potential by level and equity in the company. Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for a company of our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skill set, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.
