BlockFi is looking for a Senior Data Analytics Engineer (Growth & Marketing) to join our growing team!
About Your Team
The BI & Analytics/Data Science team at BlockFi provides analytics support across every department within the organization. Our scope includes automated daily/monthly/quarterly reporting, building KPI dashboards/visualizations, creating and maintaining data science and prediction models, and the creation and maintenance of the data engineering pipelines to support all of the above. The work we do helps senior leaders within the organization be confident that the decisions they have to make are backed by clean, audited, timely, and precise data.
Your Mission
As a Senior Data Analytics Engineer (Growth & Marketing) your responsibilities will be focused on the creation, maintenance, and scalability of all data sources related to Growth & Marketing that BlockFi currently has, or will have in the future. In this role, you will help to shape the future of the tech stack within the BlockFi Growth department.
What you'll work on
- Assist the Growth & Marketing teams in the maintenance of current analytics data stores and data pipelines, while seeking opportunities to improve efficiency and automation
- Own the end to end process of onboarding, integrating, scaling, and maintaining all external marketing data flows into the BlockFi data environments
- Organize and reconcile large amounts of data to ensure timely, and accurate reporting while delivering a top notch client experience
- Review data for discrepancies among systems to ensure back-end data matches client-facing data
- Create and maintain documentation on key internal data processes that helps to enable the team to train new team members, detail existing obscure data pipelines, and lay the foundation for additional automation
- Be a self starter that finds opportunities for development and can deliver solutions with minimal oversight
- Recognize that no job is too small and egos must not delay deliverables
- Display intellectual curiosity and seek opportunities for personal and professional improvement
Your Expertise
- 7+ years of professional experience working in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics
- SQL (Advanced), Python (Advanced), Apache Spark (Advanced), Databricks, DBT, Apache Airflow, Relational DB (Postgres), Warehouse (Amazon Redshift), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Tableau, Scaling, Optimization, Bonus: Kafka, FiveTran, Social Media API’s
- Direct experience building and managing an Analytics Code Base
- Experience building backend systems to support “Real Time/Near Time” Analytics
- Experience building robust data pipelines for automated data validation/data cleansing
- Experience building scalable systems from the ground up, accounting for exponential growth of underlying data
- A degree in a technical field such as Finance, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science or similar field
- Excellent problem solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently without need for constant oversight
- Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities
- High attention to detail
- Adaptable to various environments and sudden changes
- Ability to embrace new technology, applications and solutions
- Desire to often work with people as well as be a self-motivated team player
