The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, was a founding and hosting member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE (Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe), and is now hosting entity for EuroHPC JU, the Joint Undertaking that leads large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop and manage information technologies in order to facilitate scientific progress. BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D into both computer and computational science (life, earth and engineering sciences) under one roof, and currently has over 1000 staff from 60 countries.

What you'll work on
- Develop innovative modules for automatic speech recognition with deep learning.
- Participation in internal group meetings and other scientific discussions.
- Writing and presentation of research papers.
- Participation in current projects related to speech technologies including but not limited to research, documentation and deliverables.
- Collaborate in research and presentation of new scientific projects.
- Collaborate with the members of the group in the generation and evaluation of language resources.
What we're looking for
- Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related subjects, with specialization in speech processing and recognition, and background in computation.
- A master's degree is desired but not mandatory.
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Machine learning.
- Programming skills in Linux, Python, Deep learning libraries, git.
- Ability to conduct scientific literature review and evaluation.
- Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Fluency in spoken and written English, Spanish and/or Catalan are desired.
- Strong interest in Speech and Natural Language Processing.
- Knowledge of Spanish and English.
- Competences
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under set deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
