Role overview
- Advanced degree (MSc or PhD preferred) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience applying advanced analytics, machine learning and AI in mining and metals, energy, infrastructure, or asset-intensive industrial sectors. Experience in computer vision, Vision AI, and application of LLM/LVM is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, Scipy, seaborn, matplotlib, etc.
- Experience deploying models into production using modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks) and MLOps practices, including model monitoring and CI/CD pipelines, is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling, time-series analysis, experimental design. Expertise in mathematical optimization techniques and tools such as CPLEX, Gurobi, FICO-Xpress is considered an asset.
- Experience working with large-scale industrial datasets, including time-series process data and sensor data.
- Knowledge of data engineering concepts, including SQL, ETL processes, APIs, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Familiarity with industrial IT/OT environments and data historians (e.g., PI systems), real-time data integration, control systems, instrumentation, P&ID and cybersecurity considerations is an asset.
- Proven ability to frame ambiguous business problems into structured analytical approaches and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Multilingual capability in English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an asset, particularly for collaboration across global client operations.
