Role overview

We believe the most interesting and impactful problems in AI arise at the intersection of research and real-world deployment - and post-training is where that intersection is sharpest. You will work with a close-knit and fast-growing team of world-class engineers and scientists to tackle some of the most challenging problems in aligning and improving foundation models, including instruction following, reward modeling, human preference learning, and evaluation of model behavior across diverse product use cases. You will have opportunities to identify and develop novel post-training techniques that directly improve Apple products meaningfully improving the experience of millions of users.

What we're looking for

5+ years of executive leadership experience

Demonstrated expertise in bridging the gap between research and product innovation

PhD, or equivalent practical experience, in Computer Science, or related technical field.

Proven and consistent track record of forming partnerships to solve complex technical problems at scale, ideally for products with a global customer base

MS/PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $363,000 and $581,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
