Role overview
- Academic background with an MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field;
- 5+ years of experience in Data Science;
- Strong ability to understand, clean, validate, and preprocess client-provided data;
- Proven experience in feature engineering, iterative model improvement, and parameter tuning to enhance model performance;
- Solid knowledge of Machine Learning concepts, including model training, testing, and overfitting prevention;
- Experience working with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and related ecosystems;
- Familiarity with tree-based algorithms (Random Forests, XGBoost, LightGBM);
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, and either Java or Scala;
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholders, including data scientists, engineers, and risk managers;
- Knowledge of statistics and data visualization is a plus;
- Knowledge of Deep Learning techniques is a plus;
- Fluency in English (mandatory);
- Spanish proficiency is a plus.
