Role overview
The Data Scientist is responsible for designing and implementing advanced analytical models that solve complex business problems. At Cognize Phix Solutions, you will lead the transition from raw data to actionable AI, utilizing machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and predictive modeling. In the Doha context, this means building solutions that are robust enough for enterprise-grade deployment while staying compliant with regional data residency and privacy frameworks.
What you'll work on
- Model Development: Build, train, and deploy machine learning models (Supervised, Unsupervised, and Reinforcement Learning) to optimize business KPIs.
- Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Perform deep-dive analysis on structured and unstructured data to uncover hidden patterns and correlations.
- Data Pipeline Collaboration: Work with Data Engineers to architect scalable pipelines that feed clean, high-velocity data into your models.
- NLP & Localization: Develop and refine Natural Language Processing models capable of handling bilingual (English/Arabic) datasets, specifically focusing on the nuances of the Gulf dialect.
- Strategic Visualization: Create compelling data stories using Power BI, Tableau, or D3.js to translate mathematical findings into executive-level strategy.
- A/B Testing & Experimentation: Design and execute controlled experiments to validate model performance and business impact.
- Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all AI/ML models are transparent, explainable, and fully compliant with Qatar’s Personal Data Privacy Protection Law (PDPPL).
What we're looking for
- Experience: 5+ years in a Data Science role, with a proven track record of deploying models into production environments (not just lab environments).
- Education: Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Technical Stack:
- Languages: Mastery of Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) or R.
- Databases: Strong SQL and experience with NoSQL (MongoDB) or Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
- Cloud: Experience with cloud-native AI services, particularly in the Azure Qatar or Google Cloud Qatar regions.
- Soft Skills: The ability to "evangelize" data science—explaining complex algorithmic logic to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, persuasive manner.
- Language: Professional English fluency is mandatory. Arabic proficiency is highly valued for sentiment analysis and localized LLM projects.
