Salary: $110,000 - $140,000

Description of Work:
The Research Scientist provides scientific and analytical support to the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) to advance research initiatives related to traumatic brain injury (TBI), psychological health, and warfighter brain health programs. The position supports strategic research planning, program evaluation, and dissemination of research findings to improve clinical care and operational effectiveness.
What you'll work on
- Conduct research and analysis related to traumatic brain injury, psychological health, and brain health initiatives.
- Support government leadership in advancing NICoE research objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Evaluate program effectiveness through data analysis and research methodologies.
- Develop peer-reviewed manuscripts, white papers, best practice reports, and technical briefs.
- Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and operational stakeholders to integrate research findings into clinical practice.
- Assist with development and monitoring of research Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide support for scientific working groups and research meetings.
- Assist with grant writing and submission efforts for research initiatives.
- Prepare summaries and documentation of research activities.
What we're looking for
- PhD in a relevant field such as neuroscience, psychology, public health, biomedical sciences, or related discipline.
- Approximately 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience conducting clinical or healthcare research.
- Experience writing scientific publications, white papers, or research reports.
- Strong analytical and research methodology skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of traumatic brain injury, psychological health programs, or military medicine preferred.
